NORTH BORNEO RICE WINE

Rice Wine?? What was that??

Rice wine is an alcoholic beverage made from rice. Unlike European wine, which is made by fermentation of naturally sweet grapes and other fruit, rice wine is made from the fermentation of rice starch converted to sugar.

Rice wine usually and often can be found during the celebration like wedding ceremony and Kaamatan festival ( Harvest festival in North Borneo ) 

Rice wine were also known as "Tapai" or "Tumpung" for the local people in North Borneo.
